This personal 10 day long journey was a glorious one. Last November, a friend and myself took to Route 1 (the main ring road around the whole island) to explore any possible waterfall, geyser, lava field and glacier we could. This album is just a taste of our journey which includes many photographs of the stunning roads, whale watching and our half successful attempt at poaching an egg using just a kettle and tupperware.
If you’re thinking about going, feel free to drop me an email with any questions you might have. Some quick tips: Buy your own food from the local supermarkets. All food and drink is incredibly expensive (good job the sights are free!) and most accommodation places have kitchen utensils. There’s also very few places to eat on the road so pack sandwiches and a flask of tea for the road. Make sure you have lots of waterproof clothing – it rains a lot. You just get used to it! Finally, pack a map with your locations plotted on. It made finding our places so much easier.
