Ferrari P4
Finally, I can show you the photographs of this beautiful beast! I’ve said it before, but I really did have such fun hanging out with this gang over the shoot. More information to follow!
Edit: I have more information to add to this! Despite being a replica, the car externally is as original as you could get it, made totally from scratch however, the gearbox is a ZF gearbox. The makers of this beast are RM Wilson Engineering of Leicestershire, England (www.rmwilsonengineering.co.uk) who have been in the trade for over 45 years. They have made their own fuel injection system for it and also made their own dry sump for it. The engine is a 365 GT engine and produces more bhp than the original. I hope this helps give you a little more of an insight!
Absolutely beautiful pics of an icon. Thanks for taking, and posting, them!
Even for the so called experts, this is too much to take in. It is a miracle that this car was essentially built by one man: a true genius.
Congratulations, incredible pictures, many thanks. The P4 was and is still one of the best looking cars, a Monument…
I stumbled upon your blog and these photos. I can’t even describe how perfectly you captured this car. Amazing work.
Thank you so much! I tried my best!
Wonderful set of photos that capture a truly wonderful car and the atmosphere surrounding it. Well done.
what camera and lens were you using? great images!
Thanks! I was using a Nikon D600 with either a 35mm 1.4 or a 50mm 1.8 🙂
Perfect pics! Please, is it any way to get them as a wallpapers (1920×1080)?
Thanks 🙂
Wow. This is beautiful.
this is a unique model in the world… the owner is James Glickenhaus where you did the shoot?
This particular P4 is actually a replica built by RM Wilson Engineering (www.rmwilsonengineering.co.uk) and it was shot in Leicestershire, England!
Reblogged this on ty.nguyen and commented:
Wow this is terrific! Journalistic and wedding photographer Amy Shore did a stunning job capturing the beauty of the P4.
Awesome photos! We shared this link on our Facebook page and twitter! 🙂
Amazing photography.
Beautiful photography! Of course, the car is a fake/replica, but this takes nothing away from your photos. Thanks for sharing!
this photo set is total kick ass!!
Fantastic work Amy! Love the style you’ve used here. Really evokes the emotions!
Amazing photos! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Just out of curiosity, is this an original P4 or a replica?
Matthew, it’s a replica. Even so, the builder’s work is impressive.
Is this a real p4? surely a rep? great photos though!
Beautiful pictures. Where can i read more about that particular car? I know it is not the genuine P4 but a very nice repro and would love to find out who built it.
Thanks! Currently there aren’t any articles on this particular P4 replica although, I’m hoping that will change soon! But I will give you all of the info I can: The car externally is as original as you could get it, made from scratch. However, the gearbox is a ZF gearbox. The makers of this beast are RM Wilson Engineering of Leicestershire, England (www.rmwilsonengineering.co.uk) who have been in the trade for over 45 years. They have made their own fuel injection system for it and also made their own dry sump for it. The engine is a 360 GT engine and produces more BHP than the original. I hope this helps give you a little more of an insight!
Thanks for the reply, I will get in touch with them!
Absolutely gorgeous pictures. Thank you so much for the high res!
Wow wow wow. Well done on the pics, feel as though I am actually there, you have a good eye for this!
Amy they are some stunning photographs of probably the most beautiful car of all time. Saw the car at Bob’s 4/5 year ago before the engine went in and he spent several hours showing a group of us from the P4 replica group around the car and the workmanship is truly stunning excellent work Bob
Amy – I absolutely love your collection of P4 images. For a while I was following a guy online who was making one, sadly he was a long way away so it was impossible for me to travel to capture each stage. Then to my horror, about three months ago, he sold the project half way through. I was so disappointed and the photographs of the project were too technical to be of any interest. They didn’t capture the human portrait aspect which yours do. The car is of course stunning and you were lucky to get up close. I feel embarrassed to be such a classic male victim of the fast red sports car, to be honest I’m really not that keen on most…just the old P4 with it’s beautiful curves. Well done – hope you got to go for a ride in it? All best, Gideon. http://www.gideonhart.com
Gideon – thank you so much for your comment! What a shame to hear that you couldn’t see your P4 finished! But you’re right, they are beautiful! And I didn’t get a ride in it, no. But I did get to steer it onto the ramps which was good enough for me!
One can clearly see that the F50 was inspired by the P4.
Incredible photos. I would love to know how you achieve that vintage/retro effect to the (colour) images?
Thanks so much! It’s a mixture of working with RAW images, altering curves and a couple of colour adjustments but these images are pretty close to the original shots!
Just beautiful!
